What should one know before getting there website optimized
• Search engine optimization is a time taking job, because it involves lots of research and web exploration to figure out the keywords that will give you the edge over your competitors. Plus researching provides what trends are in and what are the normal searching practices that your visitor might use on the search engine to get the desired results.

• It takes time to get indexed, most of the search engines index your website within 3-4 months including yahoo, but Google takes almost 8 – 12 months to index a website, and yet there is one issue that after it indexes your website it will not give your site a Page Rank™, but will give you that in the next indexing, that is about 4-6 weeks after your website gets indexed.

• First Position on search result page, no one can guarantee first position because the there are so many websites getting launched every day, plus some of them are also optimized, plus those who are already there, so we have to be in the continuous process of improvement. However websites do get first position, and we do try and strive hard to get it there at least in the first ten that's for sure .

• As mentioned before it's a continuous process and we have to keep optimizing the site and updating the content as from the search engines point of view, if a site is same as the last time when a search engine spider visited it then its definitely going to loose some points there. As search engines are suppose to provide fresh and latest result with more relevant and up to date content.
Search engine's robots / spiders do check the files date when it was last update.
• Keywords are a big issue when you allow the client to select the exact keywords, its not like that we not going to let the client select the keyword, the Idea is that if the client says we offer free keyboard with every purchase of a computer and ask for” free” to be the keyword there site should come on first page then, its simply not possible because we are competing with 15% of the internet for this keyword. However we can provide them positions on “Computer hardware store” or “get loans quickly” or “bay beach house ” or something like that. Getting a website ranked for just one word is extremely not likely as no one searches” house” on Google or yahoo they might search “rent house in New York”, “Apartment on rent in Yardley“ or something like that.
• Number of keywords to get website indexed on in a search engine depends on the size of the website and how many links it has. If a customer wants to get his website indexed for lets say “7” keywords while the site has 6 pages it gets really tough, so out of those 7 client can get at least 4 on the main page of a search engine result and rest a little lower in results.
• Content development, some times it is required to change the content / verbiage of the website just to increase keyword density and better search engine visibility, structure of the site (Folders and sub folders) , and name of images and pages as per the optimization scenario and requirements of the client for keyword ranking
